Fragrance and taste of yuzu all around
The entrance of Yuzuya Hotel is just by the west gate of Yasaka Jinja Shrine. Though the front of the inn is located on a busy main street, you will be suddenly surrounded by tranquility upon entering their gate and following the approach to the interior. The old building was carefully renovated and quaint furniture and rocks for the garden were collected to complete the tasteful Japanese atmosphere, which has the appearance of an inn in the quiet mountain. The most popular dish at Yuzuya is their Yuzu-nabe hot pot, filled with the flavor of yuzu (Japanese citrus). Other dishes are also simply cooked with minimal seasonings that allows the diner to enjoy the full natural flavors of the ingredients. That is to say, they respect the harvest from nature and offer their gratitude to the deity as they are just next to the grand shrine. Overnight guests will be able to experience an aromatic bath with citrus fruit in the water. Hot water and the refreshing aroma of yuzu will surely heal your mind and body.
