The Westin Miyako Hotel
Kyoto’s representative hotel harmonizing with nature through the four seasons
The Westin Miyako Hotel is situated in Higashiyama. The location has a view of ancient Kyoto. It is easy to access Heian Jingu Shrine, Nanzen-ji Temple and other historical buildings, and a wonderful spot for viewing cherry blossoms in spring and maple leaves in autumn. The hotel has several historical spots on its site. This hotel has a long history of over 120 years thriving for excellence. “Kasui-en” is a popular site, famous for its architecture from the Showa period (1926-1988). The Sukiya-zukuri style house in the Kasui-en garden is an important cultural property designated by Kyoto City. This garden is designed incorporating two aspects; “Ueji’s garden” using a natural rock associated with a waterfall and “Courtyard in white sand” which is a reproduction of the garden in the Sanpo-in Temple in the temple complex of Daigo-ji Tempe. At the rear of the hotel, there is a walking trail called “Yacho no Mori, Bird Sanctuary” in the Kachozan hills. You can relax and enjoy every season with its greenery, flowers and scenery through to bird watching and walking in nature.
