Enjoyable lunch with famous soup and the great hospitality

In the Heian period (794-1185), there was a custom that guests brought a bowl of rice and the host provided only the soup. It is said that the name of “Shiruko” comes from the spirit for making a soup dish whole-heartedly made. “Rikyu Bento” is available for both lunch and dinner.  The set includes seasoned rice with toppings and an assortment of five side dishes. The summer menu includes eels grilled over charcoal, tofu made from egg, cucumber dressed with vinegary miso and white miso soup. As an option, you can add to the hamo (pike eel) soup and yuba (soy milk skin). They make the soup stock using pure well-water, dried bonito and konbu (kelp).  It tastes excellent and can be enjoyed like a main dish. You can choose white miso soup, red miso soup, mixed miso soup or sumashi-jiru (without miso).
