Japanese-modern architecture for all generations

Yaichi Kusube (1897- 1984) was a famed Kyoto-style ceramic artist and the building used to be the residence of his older sister.  Kusube also lived in the neighborhood of Higashiyama ward and often visited his sister here.  The two-story house is about 90 years old and incorporates a fine courtyard garden in the typical style of a traditional Kyoto machiya townhouse.  While the original tokonoma alcove and ceiling beams remain, the necessary facilities are all new and modern, including the bath and kitchen.  There are two rooms on the second floor; one is a western style room and the other is a bedroom with beds.  No one will not disturb your stay once you check-in.  Spend time as you wish as if you actually lived in this Kyoto house.  Of course, their Kyoto-born staff will provide useful advice any time you need it.
