Shrine for safe travel known for its miraculous powers where Yoshitsune stopped by

Kadode Hachimangu Shrine was originally a guardian shrine of the imperial palace which stood facing northeast which is regarded as a direction of bad luck.  However, it was renamed to the current name because of the reason that Minamoto no Yoshitsune visited this shrine on the way to Oshu (northern Japan) to pray for victory. “Kadode” means departure in Japanese. According to this episode, the stone monument was erected on the shrine approach. This shrine is also famous as a peach blossom viewing spot.  Yoshitsune Kadode Festival is held in early April, the best time for viewing peach blossoms. They offer many kinds of lovely amulets suiting women's tastes, so it might be good to have another one for your friend.
