Indulge yourself in a comfortable Japanese inn that has beautiful interior
Iyuki is a bed and breakfast style inn which is located in the inner part of the Maruyama Park that is one of the most famous spots for viewing cherry blossoms in Kyoto. It is a quiet area cut off from the hustle and of tourists. They accept 3 groups a day and only receive new customers through introductions, so there are many people longing to stay at this inn. The building structure is the Sukiya-zukuri style. It was originally used as a teahouse in the early Meiji period (1868-1912), and later was renovated installing floor heating in the tatami room on the first floor and a shower room on the second floor. They always try to improve its comfortableness while keeping its quaint tastes at the same time. The most outstanding are the cherry blossoms in spring. “I can’t stop watching ‘the scene’ in the last stages of the cherry blossoms when the entire house is covered with falling cherry blossoms, is absolutely beautiful.” Ms. Kazuko Ueda, the landlady, says. Some regular guests make a reservation every season to see ‘the scene’.
